About Resale Nation

Beginning

We launched Resale Nation in March of 2009 after my wife and I held a garage sale the previous September.  To post the sale, we spent $25 to place an ad in our local newspaper.  We had four small lines of space and limited exposure.  We posted signs on nearby street corners hoping people would see them.  After a lot of hard work, we ended up with fewer than 20 visitors all weekend and not very high sales.  It dawned on us that there had to be a better way to organize and advertise a great sale. 

Planning

With Resale Nation, you can advertise a sale, post specific items that you are selling, and mark your location for others to find.  If you are looking for a sale, Resale Nation can help you organize your search.  Instead of wasting time and gas driving around looking for sales, you can use Resale Nation to identify where sales are located and what items you'll find.  Resale Nation will also provide a map and directions how to get there.

Organizing

Selling individual items online works, but a weekend sale can be more lucrative and a lot more fun.  You can clean out your basement, garage, and storage areas and sell everything at once-clothes, books, toys, tools, and other items that you don't use any more.  The kids can help, and you can reconnect with your neighbors.  With Resale Nation, you can list all the items you are selling along with pictures and pricing.  We will give you all the tools and tips necessary to have a great sale! 

Giving

Think about it.  When you sell your own items, you are providing goods to others at prices far below retail.  Unsold items can be donated to organizations that need them.  Community groups can use Resale Nation to plan sales for fundraisers.   Together, we can pay it forward in a big way!
